2022 Dog Friendly Bay Area Holiday Guide
We are so lucky to be in the Bay Area where there is a wealth of festive events and twinkling lights during the holidays. Dog friendly holiday fun this year range from lighted boat parades to outdoor holiday festivals to tree lightings and neighborhood lights. Best of all, these activities are all FREE unless noted otherwise.

East Bay

Walnut Creek

Ruth Bancroft Garden (map)
Meander through 2.5 acres of cacti, succulents and trees that are transformed into colorful botanical sculptures by thousands of lights and lasers. Anticipate spending 1-1.5 hours walking through the gardens. Purchase tickets online – $20-28 for adults and $12-16 for kids.

Annual tree lighting, holiday performances, photos with Santa, outdoor cinema, crafts for kids, a holiday light show, and a holiday market. Tree lighting and a brass quintet will be at 5:30pm in Estudillo Plaza. Followed by music, entertainment and outdoor cinema at 6pm on West Juana Ave. The holiday market will be in Pelton Plaza with over 30 vendors.

The holiday parade starts at 4:30pm and goes down Georgia St. from Sonoma Blvd to Santa Clara St. Tree lighting ceremony at 6pm behind JFK Library. Followed by a lighted boat parade on the waterfront starting at 6:30pm.
